help dating plaid wool (bolero? Cropped?) jacket 1980s?

Just wondering if I'm looking at 80s here or later?
The shoulders are padded.

I would've said mid to late 80s with those shoulder pads. Weren't those "out" by the 90s?

Decades rarely finish on time when it comes to fashion Jen - many women loved shoulder pads and didn't want to relinquish them so while production reduced dramatically, they were still common until about 1993. I worked in fashion from the late '80s to early '90s and was eager to see them go, but they just hung around, especially for corporate types and older women.

The late '80s versions tended to be longer, and less fitted whilst clothes in general got sexier in the early '90s with shorter skirts and cropped jackets. The double breasted style made a comeback in about '92.

These jackets always make me think of Fran in "The Nanny"(from '93) and Alicia Silverstone in "Clueless" ('95).
