Hi Lauren,
I know this isn't new to you, but you'll get a better response and more accurate datings if
you read this thread and post more information.
In particular:
include as much pertinent information as possible: the type of fabric, any openings, zippers, zipper pulls, type of interior construction and seaming, shots of the labels, buttons if they are unusual, etc.
Many of us pop into the forums briefly and so we can give the most help if the information we need is provided by you, so that we don't have to ask questions. As you know, my responses to you are frequently to ask more questions because I can't provide an accurate date when you just put a photo up. I can't touch the garment, but you can, so what you can tell us is often very useful.
Also: I find it can be very helpful when you - an experienced person - tells us what date you think it is? There's a lot of difference between '60s, '70s and '80s.
In this case, I'd like to ask the following:
- are you sure it's rayon fabric?
- Is the embroidery hand down or machine done? If you're not sure, post a close up of both sides please.
- The hem of the robe looks to be top-stitched. Are the seam overlocked or sewn using another method?
I have an idea of the date of this set but the information you provide will determine how confident I am - in case I'm not here when you respond, I'll go with mid '70s but I also expect it to be silk, not rayon and made in China or another Asian country.
