Help dating Sacony dress

Hi all,
I have a floral Sacony dress with a ruched waistband and a tuck pleated skirt.
I believe she's from the 1940s but was hoping to confirm.
She's a nylon type material.

Thanks in advance for any help!
Brooke

I believe the brand has only been in use since 1963: http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4806:om59x1.2.1

I'm seeing much more 70's/80's from the colour combination, buttons, the style of printing and that knit waistband.

Does it have another (care) label?

Hi Melanie - the VFG actually has the following label info. for Sacony: "Sacony was a mid priced line of women’s and children’s apparel , bathing suits and beachwear. Sacony was part of the S. Augstein Co, Inc., founded in 1890. The label was in use for beachwear by 1938, and by 1941 they made a line of women’s summer suits using Palm Beach fabrics."

There were some example labels used, however, the one on this dress isn't exact to either of the ones shown in the library. Unfortunately there isn't any other tag or label to help me with dating.

Yes I should have said registered brand. The R symbol and the info I provided was the date from which the brand was registered trademarked, and from when the label on your dress can date.

When you say "ruched" do you mean the waistband is elasticated? I see no other openings other than the centre front buttons so if both cases are correct, I agree with Melanie on a late '70s to early '80s date. The label looks more '60s but I haven't seen a dress like this with an elasticated waistband during that decade.
