They are size 39 European and 8 1/2 US. I know there is some sort of animal skin on the front, looks like leopard, but I don't know what it is. They are really clean shoes. Steampunk is pretty popular now.Originally posted by coffeegrl
My guess (and I could be way wrong) is the first pair, late 60's, second pair, I don't know late 80s maybe?? and the last pair I'm thinking 60s or 70's, my first thought was 70's, but I'm not sure -
The first ones so rocking sexy granny - googling steanpunk now, I love the first pair, what size are they

Here is a better photo. They are Bally International, made of suede I believe. Thank you!Originally posted by Midge
Oh yeah, I didn't even look at the logo of the third pair more closely! A better photo of that would help. It really looks like it could be Bally. If it is, this would date the shoes earlier - the Bally logo that's still in use is from at least the 70s, if not late 60s.

Re #2, I seem to remember Jonathan saying that a fabric label like that was typical of the 80s, but as said above hopefully he'll come along!
Are #3 by Bally? I can't see the label properly.
My guess is
#1 60s, coz I *think* that squared off toe is very 60s,
#2 80s
#3 60s, or perhaps 70s - coz I *think* you don't get those numbers printed on the inside sides, that I can just see, on earlier shoes.
But really just a guess, I'm only saying to test how much I really know, and hope someone more knowledgable comes along!
I really like #3 by the way! They remind me of Elizabethan court shoes - I think that's the era anyway.

I've been trying once again to find out more about the history of Bally, but there's no information on logos, labels and different ranges (e.g. Bally International, Bally Bellezza etc.) to be found it seems. I guess one day I'll have to visit their Museum - and there's also a company archive, though it doesn't look like that can be visited. Anyway, there's a whole variety of logos, and the one that I means is the still-current logo seems to be older than I thought... just check out this page: http://www.internationalposter.com/search-results.aspx?keywords=bally
The modenr logo I mean is the one used in the posters in the last row for example, but it also turns on much earlier posters than I thought. So I'm now totally confused :singing:.
*sigh* I hear ya! Maybe Jonathan will pop in. But I appreciate the work, I'm pretty good about research but this one just slipped through the internet ether. Nadine

My bad. I put clearer photos up and accidentally deleted the third pair. And yes, I believe those are leather linings.Originally posted by vintagebaubles
Why am I only seeing 2 pairs of shoes????
Anyway, I think mid to late 60s (like '66 to '69) on the black & animal print pair. hard to say on the Bally's. Those could be 70s; what color are the soles, and is that a leather lining in them?

Hi Inkedpalm
I had a question about Bally-shoes a while ago, and mine have almost the exact same label as yours –
Jonathan dated them to about 1970, and I think yours are too.
I looked at a lot of bally-labels then, Found an earlier one from I think before ca 1965, and then the recent, weelknown one from somewhere begin/mid-70es on.
