Help dating small box bag

Hi

Your thoughts on this bag? It has no labels but is a hard case box shape, with hard curved handles and gold trim with ball clasp to open. Looks like it is missing it's original strap.

Can you tell if it is real suede or something else?

Upon further investigation....yes, I do believe it might be suede!

Any thoughts on the age?
