Help dating sportswear / leisurewear

Hi there,

I'm hoping some members of the forum might be able to help me! While in the U.S., I came across this rather beat-up Tshirt and thought that the tag looked like it belonged to a 40s / 50s item of clothing. I have searched online and can see similarities with some mid-century leisurewear / sportswear pieces but I don't know much about this area of clothing. Is this an item dating from this era or is it a recent piece with an old-fashioned label? Does anyone have information about the himalaya label? The tag to the right has 100% cotton and 'S' stamped onto it in blue ink. There are no other labels inside.

Thank you!

The Alpha sizing rather than numerical and distinction of the 'Him' portion of the brand name in italics suggests to me this is actually a men's top.
The brown/orange colourway was popular in the 60's and 70's, which were also eras when men's fashion included fitted tops.

Someone more familiar with this brand may be able to narrow it down further for you. (I'm in the UK)

Thanks so much, Melanie! I have been discussing with a vintage seller in the US off the forum and she also suggested the 60s (given that there are no care instructions).

The italics make a lot of sense now! :)
