Help dating these ankle straps?

I am sooo stumped on these. The vamp says 70s but the heel looks 30s and the buckle is just strange. They have a sliding mechanism that causes tension as you pull the straps into place and locks them down. They are made of the softest suede I have ever felt, very plush. But here's the kicker, the soles are a sueded leather too. Are they dance shoes? what age?

I have some shoes from the 30's and 40's that have that same type of mechanism.....I just had a pair in my hand the other day and it took me a minute to figure it out.

I would say those are older, not 70's...what does the bottom of the shoe look like?

Hi Sandra,

The sueded bottoms tell me these are probably ballroom dancing shoes. I've been stumped by ballroom shoes before... many times they look quite vintage but are not. They tend to look a bit dramatic, a bit romantic as well. I would guess by the line of the upper that these could even be contemporary, or 1970s... I'm just not 100% sure of either one. Hope this helps! :)
