What name would you give to this sparkly stone like material on the one side?

I would agree with 60s, Maureen. I have usually called these glitter sparkle purses.

Another vote for 60s convertible clutch! That material looks like glitter and feels like sandpaper--but I have no idea what the technically correct term is!
