Hi, I could use some advice about this sweet little number. What kind of dress is it? A garden party dress or something? I can guess it is from the 1910's or so, but I really don't know about items like this. Hopefully I'll be able to clean it up nicely. Thanks!!
It looks early 20s to me - c. 1920-22, but it might be later - its difficult without seeing it being worn to know how its supposed to fit. It's very nice - the filet lace in the centre front is made to fit the insert, which makes it nicer than most.
That is lovely and yes I agree with Jonathan to 1920s. You should be able to wash this one in cold water with a mild soap, the marks may come out of it. I use eucalan, it is a very mild soap, you can order it online if it is not available in your area.
What did one originally wear under it, and where would it be worn? Is it just a regular daytime dress? I am glad you all agree on the 20's. I had guessed earlier because the waist isn't very low.
