This is a great looking mens wool coat. I guess it's a sporting or ski jacket. It has a cool front treatment with the buttons under the zipper and has the back with the attached self belt (I don't know what this is called), and adjustable bits on the sides of the back. It has a label, but it is no longer readable. I'd guess it was a ski jacket from the 30's or 40's, but don't really know, so I am appealing to your collective expertise.

Thanks!!!

That's a 1930's zipper, I believe. Note the lined "fan" and second "Talon" stamp on the zipper body, the tiny rectangle at the bottom of the pull. None of these individually really tell the story except maybe the lined body, but together they do. For example, the tiny square showed up again on Talon zippers in the 1960's, and the second stamping was still on Talons from the 1940's.

I wondered that too, MJ, but it appears the buttons are on the right like a mens jacket. Great though, isn't it!
