Hi!
I recently thrifted a skirt which I at first glance believed to be a 50's skirt. But I'm not completely sure.

I would be very happy if someone could help me out dating it?
Its made of cotton and the zipper is both metal and nylon.

Many thanks in advance :)
Petra

Nice graphics! The style of label strikes me as 80s (there was a revival of 50's styles then) does it have any care labels or info?

Hi!
Thank you!
No it just have a small label saying size 42.
I'v tried to google the brand but I only get Heinzelmann on vintage swimming suits ( they appearently had a diffusion brand) They are from the 50's but the tag doesn't look the same.

I bet it had a matching blouson top in which the care label was sewn.

The swimsuit brand is from the same company;
Much like Jaeger, Heinzelman appears to be a german knitwear company that began in 1886 (in the health/underwear market) that turned to knitted swimwear after WWI and then onto other garments over time, they did become market leaders in beachwear after WWII, their address was:
H. Heinzelmann GmbH & Co
20-24 Planie, 7410 Reutlingen, Federal Republic of Germany, Germany
They are possibly still going today (the last trademarks registered are from 2013)
They have some 31 trademarks listed in Germany and the update of their original name trademark in 1978 only includes the following:
Upper and lower garments ( including knitted and crocheted ) , sport, leisure , bath and beach clothing, bathing suits , bikinis , swimwear

whereas in 1979 it now reads:
Manufacture of articles of clothing ; Repair and maintenance of clothing ; Cleaning of textiles

Their logo changes in 1989 to this and the garments made now include:
Clothing for men, women and children , sports clothing, leisure clothing, swimwear pieces.
