So I came across this dress of st. Michael. It has a label in it and I looked it up in the label resource. There is a page of st. Michael labels, but, there is not a picture of this particular label in the label resource. Could someone tell me how old this dress is?

In fact the document I was sent by the Marks & Spencers archive people, states that this 'handwritten' style St Michael logo, wasn't introduced until 1951. Therefore your dress must be from 1951-1952! How specific is that?

By the style I would have said the dress was a little earlier, but the labels tell a different story.

I agree with Ruth. Love the dandelion print. I was going to say by the larger size I suspect it was heading into the 50's as that is when M&S began their plus size range.
I couldn't quite tell from the photos but has the skirt been shortened? (helpfully all you have to do is measure the dress and see if it matched the labelled length of 47"!)
