Hi All,
I've got no idea....the label looks 'earlier' the coat looks sort of 90s sort of 80s sort of.....??....and would you describe this as a tweed? I'm fairly certain this is not from the Swimsuit Jantzen co....
Thanks again to you all.
Lauren

Lauren, your coat was made in Hong Kong, where many labels reproduce famous designer names: Jantzen is an unusual choice for a coat but it's a lovely label, don't you think? It's also unusual the way it's been sewn in lengthways (is this along the side seam?). So, I agree that it's unlikely to be related to the US swimwear company.

I can't tell how old it is, but most Western clothing tailored in HK dates from the '60s to more modern times. Perhaps if you can identify the lining fabric it might help? It looks like a rough tweed and the buttons look fairly modern, but they could be replacements. An interesting funnel neckline.

Hi Nicole and thanks for the info. The lining is a relatively high quality silk (?) but maybe sating. I think you're right about the buttons, and have included a few shots of the button up close. Would you replace them? Is rough tweed the technical term for this fabric?
Thanks again,
Lauren
