Help dating two evening coats.

Hi, I need help with these two coats. Would they be called evening coats?
The lavender one has two labels, the first says Cee-Co, and the second says Morris B Sachs Inc, Chicago.
The second one, which is forrest green, has a union label, and the tag at the back of the neck says Mingea Chicago, on which I can find nothing. I assume it is a store label.
Thanks for any help on dates and info!!!

I have no idea how to upload pictures to here, so I will provide a link to where they are available for viewing on my flickr stream. There a number of pieces there, but it is only the first two coats I am asking about. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to follow the link and provide me with any info. Thanks again!

i would call the lavender one an evening clutch coat, i'd say 60s. the other is just a day coat, from what i can see...unless its a shantung, then it could be considered an evening coat. looks 60s as well, to me.

Thanks Mary! That is what I was thinking, but I get all unconfident when it comes time to list something, so thanks for the reassurance! The green one is shantung, and just feels dressy. I believe it could go either way, with the style and cut, but the fabric makes it seem more like evening wear.

I would call them "afternoon coats", as originally they probably had matching dresses, making them an "ensemble". I think the purple one is a bit earlier, late '50s and the green one is early '60s.

Thanks Nicole. They do look like they would have had a sheath dress under them, don't they? Particularly the green one. Could I call them "Dressy Afternoon Coats", or does that sound stupid?
