Help dating value village finds

I was at Value Village looking at the Halloween section and I found these dresses, that are either vintage or reproductions, the yellow dress I'm thinking 1960s same with the night gown/night cape. They're not even things I'd generally go for, but if they're actually vintage I'd like to grab them before they get torn up and turned into zombie costumes.

Sorry for the bad quality, but I was in a value village :P

Hi! The yellow one definitely looks like a late 1960s, early 1970s dress and the turquoise I would put in the 1970s.

Then it's been decided, I'm going back to Value Village to save them. I know I'll find a use for the nightgown at least, maybe the evening gown one day. But they're going to be rescued.

You could actually wear the first dress for Halloween - as Belle from Beauty and the Beast...

That's true, it would totally work as Belle! This is the only reason I really go into Value Village this time of year, the one here they bring out a whole bunch of vintage for cheap and I try to benefit from it :P

Same here lol. Although some stores I've been to have vintage sections, usually they end up just throwing it all in the international garment section.

Really? Ooh, I'll have to take a look there to, the stuff they bring out now tends to have a slight imperfection (Which is fine for me, since I sew) like the yellow dress had some tearing on the sleeves (Which to be honest, I was considering removing anyways, but at the same time, it's vintage so I don't want to alter it) I'm so shocked how cheap they are though, both $7.99!

I'll bet that yellow gown was a Bridesmaids dress from the late 60s early 70s and it probably would have had a matching yellow large brimmed hat! I wore something very similar in my husband's sister's wedding in the 70s.
Oooh, I love when I find a dress that was a part of something special, it feels like a part of history. Though they all are really part of history.

I have a sun dress with that same Nu-Mode label, that I think is 70s - and it's definitely a favourite of mine. That yellow dress is perfect for Belle. Good on you for saving these pretties!

I'm going back for them tomorrow, here's hoping they're still there. Maybe I'll grab some more to save if I find them, I told my boyfriend my plan and he looked at me like I'm crazy so I said "If this was a vintage car and someone wanted to destroy it for fun, would you not want to save it?" and that shut him up pretty quick.

Nu-Mode was a manufacturer out of Toronto. They were around from c. 1946 to the early 1990s
Oh really? I've found a few items from Toronto recently.

Wow, they were around quite long! I actually bought mine in Toronto.

I ended up only getting the nightgown, the yellow dress was more than I thought and to small, so as much as I wanted to save it, I passed on it for now.
