Help dating Victorian photo of a woman and child.

I'm hoping someone here can help me date this unidentified photo from my mum's collection. I have come to suspect it is my 2nd great-grandmother, Barbara Langford holding my infant great-grandfather who had the same initials (WML) as pencilled onto the bottom of the photo below the name "Barbara L"

. My great-grandfather was born in 1869. Were boys dressed of that period dressed so girlishly? Does the woman's dress fit this era? They lived on a farm naer the Welsh border with England, so may not have worn the most up-to-date fashions.

That fits - her dress is mid-late 1860s from what can be seen, and boys wore dresses until they were 2, and he looks 6 months?
