Help Dating Wool Plaid \"Westbrook\" Jacket Please

hi,
i found this adorable brown & gold plaid wool jacket.

I've attached a photo of the Westbrook label (doesn't seem to be in the Label Resource).

I was thinking 1950's but then questioned whether it could be late 40's even.

thanks for any help in dating and description.

it is a crop length, double breasted with a high button at the collar, the back has the inverted pleat style and also a peplum-inspired detail.

Ooooooo, that's a nice jacket! Norfolk pleat et al. I'd wait for confirmation, but I think this may be what is referred to as a 49er jacket - I think it's earlier than 50s.

I live a town over from Westbrook, Maine - there used to be a lot of shoe factories there. I wonder if the jacket has something to do with that!

Oh, what a super-cute jacket. Not a 49'er, though. Denisebrain did a wonderful blog entry in October with a whole slew of 49'ers she's sold, if you want to check out the difference.
