Help describing this dress

It is a one piece, made to look like 2. Was this a style that there was a name for? Also, the angled lines on the top, how would you describe that? It is not piping, it is some kind of sewing technique. Any suggestions on a date while were at it?

Chevron pin tucks on the bodice (looks like). Looks VERY "Tootsie" don't you think? The movie was done in 1982 but to my eye this could be late 70s-early 80s.
