Help determining type of embroidery / country of origin

Hi there,

I have this beautiful white cotton, short sleeve, boxy maxi dress with all over bird and flower embroidery. I'm trying to find out where this may have come from or what the type of embroidery is, but I'm coming up short with no real clues. I thought Peruvian or Mexican, but I haven't seen anything like it in my searches.

Anyone have any info?

Oh, what fun that is! It looks South American, but more than that I don't know. You can fix that pull with a very tiny, metal crochet hook. You poke the hook through from the back (into an existing hole is best), grab the wayward yarn, and drag it through to the back.
