Help determining what type of fabric this is?

Hi everyone! I have this beautiful dress by Carol Craig-I've determined it's from the 50s based upon my research, but I was wondering-can anyone help me identify what this type of fabric is? There is no fabric content tag included, but it is a medium/heavy weight stiff fabric (non-stretch) with a slightly "lined" textured. The finish is somewhat glossy and satiny...all input is appreciated, thank you!

It's hard to tell by looking at it without being able to feel. Can you find an area inside a seam where you can unobtrusively take off a few threads and do a burn test? It's very pretty, it looks more 60s than 50s to me.

Another vote for 60s rather than 50s, and I'd try a burn test too.

Another vote for early '60s - hard to tell without a close up, but the fabric looks something like a slubby shantung (but too even) or a loose ottoman. Probably silk or rayon, so I'd go for a burn test too if you can't tell the composition from feel (silk should be cooler to the touch).
