Good Afternoon!
I need some assistance confirming the type and color of fur I recently acquired. I am quite certain it is mink. Color is probably blonde? It is from Saks Jandel which is a high end boutique in Washington. Most of their clothes are from European designers. The construction is meticulous.

This is my first time posting. I love this site!
Thanks so much.

There are some excellent on line guides to mink fur colors. You will probably get closer to the true color with coat in hand and looking at the different options. From my monitor it could be a pearl or silver blue.

Thank you! I will check out and see if I can find a close match. It is an ivory with silver/gray undertones. Natural color.

I agree that this is Mink fur. Your description sounds like Tourmaline or Azurene. I am not really sure though from your photos of the exact color. I would just describe it as the colors look to you.

Thank you. Yes, I am leaning towards Azurene from on-line photos. I need to check in the daylight tomorrow as it looks so different in various lights.

The coat is fully lined, as shown, on the interior underneath the satin interior. Typically you can lift the ling to see the underside if the fur. This has meticulous detailing underneath so the underside of the fur is not exposed. Have you seen this before?

Many fur coats have open hems that allow the bottom of the lining to be lifted. Sometimes the hind side of the pelts are visible for inspection but sometimes they are not. I have seen a thin cotton layer over the hind side of the pelts to protect them many times. I have also seen embellishments like satin and lace covering up to 12" up from the bottom of the pelts underneath the lining so that when the lining is lifted another beautiful fancy layer is seen underneath.

Yes, underneath the lining the coat features another satin lining about 12" or up the coat and is attached to a sheer voile fabric further up. Lovely.
Thanks again for your insight.
