Help Identify Pls: Mink or Beaver

Good day vintage lovers!

i am having a hard time identifying if this fur cape I thrifted is mink or beaver! Would really appreciate if you guys will be able to help me!

do u guys think its from 80’s? It looks hand sewn too.

Were they still making shaped stoles in the 80s? I would think this is from the 50s or early 60s - it's definitely not beaver (the guard hairs on beaver are longer) but it could be dyed to look like dark mink and its actually something else - muskrat, fitch.. Unfortunately, or best fur ID person is now retired from the VFG.

Ohh thanks for this! These are really interesting info! Well, mink or muskrat im happy to have this! At least theyre genuine fur, right!
