Help identify this cultural embroidered garment

Hello! I acquired this gorgeous detailed embroidered poncho through an estate and while I was able to get some answers to age the garment at least 20-25 years, I was unable to get much more info about its origins. The main garment feels like a thick felted wool. The embroidery is beautiful and detailed but I can’t seem to match it to any specific type of cultural garment by style or pattern? is anyone familiar with this pattern or style or this garment in general?
I would like to have more info before putting it up for sale.

Could be Huipil, from Guatemala or Mexico.
