Hi there! I’d really appreciate any help with identifying and dating this coat I just bought.
Here’s what the seller sent me, from someone who was also looking at the coat listing: The correct colour description is Champagne. The pelts are fully dropped which is most desirable and highest in quality. My guess is vintage 1960’s. I’m the daughter of a woman who was a buyer for Holt Renfrew furs in the seventies and she trained me well. It is gorgeous. Best wishes.
The fur is on the shorter length. And it’s fairly light. There is an opening on the seams of one of the sleeves (image 8008) and you can see the animal leather and a mesh-like backing, which is sandwiched between the exterior fur and the interior lining.
Image 8012 shows the lining and the fur seam in one of the sleeves.
The coat has 3 hook-and-eye fasteners along the lapels.
Please let me know if more information is needed to identify this item. Thank you!
