Help identifying cotton fabric

Hi all,
I have what I believe to be a 1940s dress in a light weight and sheer cotton.
I am thinking it is batiste after researching the fabric library, however, would love to get confirmation.

Hi Brooke...what a sweet dress! I think I see batiste too. Do you see lengthwise streaks in the cotton? Is that subtle plaid printed or woven in?

I think it may be voile. I don't see lengthwise streaks in the cotton in the close-up. The dress is lovely!

Thank you both! Denise the plaid effect is woven into the cotton. I am not the best at this but it looks like there are a few tiny streaks but a couple of them cross each other. I could greatly use a textile course!
