Hi, Newbie here. I have several pairs of shoes that I'd like to get an idea of the age and value. I've spent days trying to find more info only to find dead ends, so I'm pleading with the vintage goddesses for help.

Bruno Magli--low heels that are sculptured, like a notch cut out. Body is a silver/grey mottled patent leather. Vy gd. cond. Age? Value?

Stanley Philipson--Pumps with shiny (patent leather?) tortoise shell pattern/mottled browns. Exc. cond.
Age? Value?

Stuart Weitzman--Silver pumps, high heel, with silver sequins across toe. Leather-covered heel is sculpted. Exc. cond. Age? Value?

Joan & David--handmade or couture--brown lace up grannie shoes with chunky heels. Exc. cond. Age? Value?

Reebok--Brown leather athletic shoes with orange fabric inside. Label under tongue reads "from a tradition of more than 90 years". Handmade in Korea. Exc cond. Age? Value?

Scott Rankins--(High end designer launched line in1993, folded 1995.) Stunning hair-on, mid-calf boots in a leopard pattern. (Pony, cow or leopard skin?) Lined with pale green leather. Exc. cond. Value?

Sorry if this is too much but I didn't want to make multiple posts. Thank you in advance!

Can you post any photos?

If Scott Rankins was only around for two years - you've answered your own question. I don't know anything about Scott Rankins to advise you whether to hold onto them until they become vintage or just consider them designer shoes...

Joan and David was bought out or folded a few years back and is now owned my Maxwell who owns brands like Mootsies Tootsies. The price point is a lot lower than it has been over the past 10 years. I haven't had a pair in the past 10 so don't know what their quality is like now. Most of their shoes were really well made so what you have is not necessarily "couture" - but a well made shoe.

"Value" depends on many factors such as condition, demand, and market you are selling them in. Oh, and sometimes size - but then that links in with demand.

Anyway - I am sure others like Jonathan who are more shoe-savvy than myself has more info, but pictures really need to be seen

A picture is truly worth a thousand words... can you download pics of them? They sound like they are probably 80s or 90s from what I can tell from your descriptions but I can't be positive without seeing them.

The best way to add photos is to upload them from your computer to a service such as photobucket, flickr, imageevent, etc.. Then copy the image

All right--here are links to the pics on Flickr. (Click on one and I guess you can see them all.) (Where are the img codes? I'll try to find later so the pics will appear here.) Thank you to all the gods and goddesses out there! I appreciate your help.

(Note: I was confused in OP about the granny shoes. They are by Fancaltti of Colombia, not Joan & David. I have 2 Joan & Davids--handmade black patent leather pumps with louis heels and brown leather loafers marked "couture".)

They are not showing... I think because you are using the direct URLs instead of image codes? I don't use Flickr, but it should have a way to generate image code, which is what you need to use to post to most message boards. The right coding will start with

The Stride Rites might be early but I can't tell from the pic - I would need a shot of the inside and the top. The Scott Rankins you already have dated as between 93 1n 95, the Reeboks refer to over 90 years and since they were founded in 1894 that would make them late 1980s probably. All the rest are in that same period - late 80s to early 90s, The Weitzman and the Magli are possibly the earliest - maybe as early as 1985, but I think more likely 1986-88. The chunky heeled shoe is probably the newest, c. mid 90s - 1995/96 but because they are from Columbia and were custom made they could also be ahead or behind the main trends. The blue suedes are early 90s and the tortoishell pumps are late 80s. I can't help you with values.

For the Reeboks, I would find a tennis shoe collector site. People collect Reebok and Adidas shoes and Nike to different extents, not just the real old ones but newer "limited editions" and things like that. This may not be something like that, but the collectors are on the younger end and consider 90s styles "retro". They would be your best bet. Maybe the phrase that its been around 90 years means its part of an anniversary line, etc. I would say most of the interest veers towards men's styles, but you never know.

Oh, thanks so much! I appreciate your help tremendously. I've spent several hours trying to figure out how to post the actual pics here. Thanks for going over to flickr. Guess I'll hold on to these till they're officially vintage. Great idea about finding collectors. TY again!

PS: I scored a chocolate brown St. John Santana knit suit recently! Gorgeous top with black faux suede on collar and cuffs topped with with 3 rows of brown satin woven trim and a black picot edge.
