Help identifying fur pelts - all of the same kind

Hello Everyone

I expressly came to this forum with hopes of identifying some of my vintage furs pelts, in various types of clothing.

I have recently added a black fur shawl to my collection, for 6.50 of all prices! Which leads to ask, was this type of fur inferior and commonplace? Because I have a late 1930's/1940's coat, 1940's capelet and hat in this particular pelt.

The fur is short, the finish slick, and soft to the touch. The undercoat exposes a reddish hue, which I initially thought was a sign of the fibres having been dipped in some kind of dye. But after some investigation, have found it common amongst all of them, therefore I believe it to be a natural feature of the pelt.

Thank for you help!

Right, it does not look like mouton at all. I was actually thinking of Hudson Seal, not mouton. Duh. It does not appear to be as dense as seal to me, so I think some other fur dyed and sheared to resemble seal, often called Hudson Seal.
