Help identifying fur types on 2 vintage coats

Thank you in advance for your help!
I have 2 vintage coats and even after days of research I just can not determine the fur type.
1. Light weight dark fur coat, I think the style is 40s with slash pockets and cocoon sleeves. It does not have the fur label, or any label, only a monogram. Its very light weight and unbelievably soft. Like everyone, I want it to be sable but I think it might be mink treated muskrat. I'm worried the stripes are dyed but I can't tell.

2. Heavy weight light colored fur coat. I think this stole is from the 60s, real pockets.. It has the fur label in the pocket, but does not identify what type of fur it is, also labeled "Leeka's Furriers Dayton, Ohio" and monogrammed. Compared to the first one, it is heavy as all get out and a little less soft. My guess is its pastel mink but I am not sure if it is soft enough for that.

Hi Elizabeth,

Your first is a jacket style cape, it is from the 40s, and it is Russian squirrel which is very soft.

Your second jacket does date to the 60s and is indeed pastel mink as you guessed.

Both are very pretty. :)
