Help identifying Marni bag

Hi guys, I have this Marni bag but I'm a bit confused about this detail. It seems like some sort of geode but I'm not sure if it is not just a damaged detailing. It looks like something Marni would do but I couldn't find a similar bag only some jewellery pieces. I would appreciate all the help! ❤

I see what you mean - I admit I can't tell from that photo if that is damage or meant to be a decorative feature... though it seams it's kind of shimmery? That would more point towards something decorative. I'm not sure that the bag is vintage yet, though.

Hi, I'm pretty sure it's 2000's, Marni had a range of bags with that particular frame style and the jewel detailing. I did have one but I forget the year, maybe 2007.

Edit: Not sure about the jewel, the hole looks off but it also does not seem even enough for a stone... do you think someone has attempted to 'fix' it?

It's does have that geode/crystal kind of shimmer to it and you could see slightly different shades of colour, which seems to indicate it being more of an embellishment than a damage mark

Yeah, I've seen similar frames but nothing with the embellishment :/
That's an interesting point (about the fixing) it does seem like a stone should've have been somehow bigger. You can see from up close that the 'hole' for it was specially cut out and the crystal would've have been inserted rather than sticked on.

Thanks for the help!
