HELP Identifying this fabric

Hi!!

I think the dress is from the 60's (please correct me if I'm wrong) There are no tags, and I have no idea what to call this weave. It's a very thick open weave dress, it's actually really amazing to me, I don't have anything else like it in my collection. I'm also curious about this type of trend in fashion history. Is it 60's? 70's? Was it popular, or is this truly unique?

ANY help or information would be greatly appreciated and help me towards researching and finding out more about this beautiful dress!! Thank you!

I think it's a type of machine lace. Someone else will know better though, I'm sure.

Assuming the back does up with a zip I think it's mid to late 1960's.

I've seen this material on '60's clothing and wondered if the material for the lacy looking material is not a synthetic material. The ones I've seen were not cotton. The color makes me think of the 1960's, too.....that bright sunshine yellow unlerlayer......like Mellow Yellow!

Very 1960s, and probably machine lace like the others said. I have a similarly shaped bright yellow 60s dress, but with a finer lace sewn on to it.
