Help identifying type/era of fur collar

I got two of these fur collars at an estate sale and am not quite sure of the type of fur. Any help is appreciated!

Bumping this thread up for you in case our fur expert drops in. My guess is a grey fox, but I am not certain. Looking forward to finding out what it is.
