Help in Dating + Description - 1940\'s ? dress

hi,
i have attached a photo of a neat vintage dress that I believe is from the 1940's.

It has a satin-y collar with bugle beads and faux pearl beads. It has a neat bodice treatment (have no idea how to describe it) and neat front pockets (both bodice and pockets have the satin-y piping).

there is a left side seam "National" metal zipper. there are no labels inside.

any help in dating and describing this would be greatly appreciated.

thanks !

Mmmm l have a 'similar ' dress in as much as some of the features ar similar, the hip detail pelated though no pocket, collar opens the smae when pressed, and the side metal zip, and the arm shape, even though mine is 3/4 sleeve and l've always thought mine to be late 40's,early 50's, but not difintively...hope this helps..

Brenda,
there are small shoulder pads. the dress measures 43 inches long (back measurement). there is a back center seam hem kick pleat too.

cboppre, I think yours is late 40s with those sleeves and small shoulder pads, and Sara, yours is great too - I'd say early 50s because of the dolman sleeve. Both lovely frocks!
