Hi, I was wondering if antone could give me an idea of where the following purse would have originated from, as well as it's date of origin. It's made of a black velvet(though lined with cotton and featuring a silky ruffle) and features beautiful floral beading. Though most of the beads are glass, there are a few oxidized cut metal beads included.
The purse was found in a trunk with the jacket I have mentioned in another thread, as well as a victorian smoking cap.
I've noticed that the beadwork and purse in general does resemble some Cree Indian purses, however I'm unsure of whether this is correct or not, so would appreciate any help you could give me
