Hello everyone,

I found this cute dress by Erez but the tag was ripped out and can't tell if its faux leather or faux suede or leather thats just worn a bit..my skills are not yet there to tell w/o a tag, but I'm learning. I'm afraid you may not be able to ascertain from the photos but I'm giving it a shot..

Also would you say its 80s?

I recall my mum wearing these outfits in the 80's! She had a red leather one... I can't tell if its real leather or suede but these in leather and suede were all the rage back then.

Erez or Erez sport (usually leather)
Looks suede like. Does it feel soft or velvet like or have a texture (suede)?

The bottom almost looks like soft leather. Difference of the two is the the finish I believe.

I am not sure if Erez did faux, but would imagine it possible.
Check the underside of the buttons at waist. And look at lining. Most of the washable faux stuff that I have seen does not have a lining or pleather. Also take a peek at bottom hem of skirt.
Best wishes

The dress has a lining from the waist down. Under the lining its REALLY soft and smooth to the touch (yes sort of like velvet). Overall the dress is very lightweight. I've never seen leather this thin...

What am I looking for at the bottom hem of the skirt? Thanks!

I've had the identical (?) dress in fine, paperthin suede by VAKKO, a fairly expensive leather brand carried in Portland by Nordstrom, from their 'designer' shop. Mine was plain olive suede, not embossed. Classic 80s design with the batwing sleeve, open back, and wiggle skirt. The hem was, I believe, glued.

I remember the retail being in the 700-800 dollar range.

That helps alot. The underside is black and 'velvety'. So I think its leather. Which makes this an AWESOME deal-- because I bought it for 98 cents!

Thanks for all of your feedback. :-)
