Help me date and describe this dress?

I have a beautiful dress, I think it's 1960s, custom-made. The fabric is very thick and heavy. Can you tell me what the fabric is called? It's silver, gold and copper.

The belt has a round AB buckle, and there are AB buttons on either side.

Great dress! I agree with 1960s - has it been shortened? The length looks a little unusual to me.

I'm curious about what others call that fabric, I usually use lame or metallic brocade or something similar.

sorry.. my eyes are so bad, I cant tell, are the bronze, copper "swirls" embroidered or applique'?

I usually call it metallic brocade too.

I'd call it a metallic brocade as well, and actually, it looks like it should be shorter for the time period. It is almost a "go-go" space-age look....

Thanks...the original owner was six feet tall, and the model is about three inches shorter. Heck, if I could fit into it, I'd keep it!!!
