Help me date and describe this hat...

I love hats but don't know much about the terms used to describe. This hat is gold gathered satin with a flocked flower. It has no label.

Peaked turban? It's gorgeous!

Love the new manni head, too. I got one for myself several months ago (to replace the glass heads I'd been using), and have been having lots of fun using different vintage wigs to create the right look for various hats.

i'd actutally say earlier, although not sure enough to venture a date for you

Looks earlier than 60s to me, too. There were turban styles in the 50s, and bizarre shapes in the 40s, so I'm not sure which of these to vote on, but I'm inclining toward the 50s...

What does the inside of the hat look like? Sometimes that provides a clue.

Hopefully someone with a surer hat dating radar will come along soon!

l wold say very early 50's if not 49ish...great hat luscious!! almost concertina effect in the centre... reminds me of a walnut whip!!! c1970...LOL
