Remember... my manniquin is a freaking AMAZON at over 6' tall... on most folks, this would hit below the knee, I think.

I'm leaning towards late 50's. But then sometimes I think early 60's. And other times I may be off my rocker, but the silhouette makes me think 40's. :BAGUSE:
SO... I need YOUR help!
The only tag is a canvas feeling one with size/style #'s. No maker's tag. Seams are pinked. Fully lined.
Handstitched hem & impressive darting. It fit my manni like a dream. Black appears to be a wool crepe or similar. The bodice is an opaque nude crepe with a sheer black overlay. There is no closure on the bodice, although it crosses over at the bottom.. so it can be worn modestly or... not.

Please & thanks! :bouncy:

Wow--this is hot! My first impression on this is 60's, early to mid, but perhaps more to the mid. That's how it hit me the second I saw it, but I'm not as knowledgeable as many here, so perhaps someone else has better vibes on this!

I think it's super hot, too :D

Hoping to get this up, tonight.

How about--
Vintage 50's 60's Wiggle Illusion BAD GIRL Dress??

(btw-- posted this on the ebay board, too... consensus over there was just as confused as I am! Guesses ranged from 40's to late 50's)

LOL Harriet --
that <i>oh dear</i> was so quintessentially British!

This went up last night... I wish it fit ME!

Could be a sexy secretary, too. :D

BTW, I love your formica tables!

Kristine, I've been thinking & thinking ever since I saw this dres where I've seen it before, or at least the bottom half of it! Isn't this style very similar to something Anne Bancroft (R.I.P., Anne--you were one of the greats....) wore in "The Graduate"? I swear from the bodice seam down, this is just like one in that movie. Or perhaps it was another movie, but that's what it reminds me of. Which was mid-60s, so that must be why that's how the dress hit me when I saw it!

Actually, the graduate was 1967 cause I know!!! hehee Saw it at the drive in then at Ole Miss and saw it the other night, too. Great movie!

One of my favorite movies ever! Was there, then, a dress like this one in that movie? Not the top, I don't think, but the bottom.... If it wasn't that movie, I'm sure I saw it in some movie in the 60s! Or am I senile already and just don't know it yet?????
