Help me date this dress

Thank you in advance for your input and time!
This dress has a mod 60s look yet fabric and construction make me doubt. Heavier rayon faille/grosgrain, pinked seams, unlined, back metal Jet zipper, older seeming label I've never seen...I safely pegged it as a British 60s as it is shirt for an earlier Era, but also seems older. Thoughts?

I believe it dates from the 50s, but was shortened. You might have a look at the hem stitching.

The collar and cuffs, along with the fabric (as you said), and cut are really 1950s looking. I love those cords and pom poms.
