Help me dating this tailcoat please

I found this cotton velvet tailcoat.
The jacket is fully lined with cotton. It is mostly hand sew. The buttons are made from metal.
Can you help me dating it?

When you say "mostly handsewn", do you mean that it has machine sewing somewhere in it? If so, I vote that it is a costume piece, designed on the early 19th century style, but made sometime later than than 1850s or so.

It's a costume piece in the style of the 1790 - 1810 era. The interior standing welt pocket is a later 19th C - 20th Century construction technique as is the striped sleeve lining. It looks like the main body parts are sewn together by machine and the lining is set in by hand, as is the finishing, which is still done in costume shops. The lining I can see appears to be machine sewn together.

Without handling it, it's very hard to say when it was actually made. My guess would be 1900 - 1920, but that is a wild guess.

The seam (neck to shoulder) doesn't sit squarely on the shoulder. The shoulder seam sloped well to the back at the armscye ( typically Victorian ).
