Hi- my son, who is 13, is starting to become interested in vintage hats. He found this picture (French, c. 1900 I think) and would like to know what you would call this type of hat which the great tenor Gustarello Affre is wearing in this portrait. Is it a homburg? Something else entirely? All suggestions/ information welcome!
