Help Me! Number on a Union Made Label???

Is there a way I can determine a manufacturer, designer, and date of a garment by the number on a Union Made label?

It is a red, white, and blue label. Circa 1974-1995.

Does 266168 have a meaning?

Where would I go??

Hi Vicki,

Though there may be some ryhme or reason to those numbers, I dont believe anyone has made that case as of yet.

Sometimes an RN number can be helpful as far as finding the manufacturer.

If you can post a picture of the item, maybe we can all help you to narrow the date down a bit.
 
Yeah I was totally wondering the same thing about those #'s on the union tags, but I don't know either.
 
Thanks Lynne! It is a good resource. That's how I got it narrowed down to begin with. LOL.

Brenda - I got gutsy and bought a wedding dress. I made the mistake of falling in love with it! Only a size tag and a Union Made Label...
 
I've researched, as have others, and have found nothing relating to the numbers on the union labels. I'm about convinced they're simply batch numbers for the labels and are meaningless. Even the Kheel Center has no information on these numbers.
 
Eye candy that's what I figured too...and that ebay link is awesome hey, I think I've printed it 3 times now lol it's a great resource!
