Help Needed! Another OLGA?

Hi Everybody!
I really need some help with this. I recently found a vintage peignoir set with an Olga tag, easy peasy one would think. The problem I have is that it isn't the usual tag with the bird but something different. It does strike me as an Olga and does not have a style number as other Olgas, just states "Olga lingerie" on the front and "All nylon , wash lukewarm" on the back. (At least that's what I think, I don't have it in front of me at the moment.)
I found an etsy seller selling the same set but in another color as 1950's which strikes me as odd since Olga didn't start with nightgowns until the mid/late sixties.
So to my question, is there another Olga designing lingerie?
Here are the links to the etsy sellers item and a link to the label. If needed I will post pictures of the back of my label as well.

Thankful for any help!

Hi Sofie, and welcome to the VFG forums.

As much as I wish it were otherwise, etsy isn't the most reliable source for dating items - the sellers probably mean well, but are limited by their own knowledge or lack thereof.

Have you seen the Label Resource entry for Olga? She sounds like an impressive lady, and I doubt there's another Olga lingerie company - if you know they started making nightgowns in the '60s, then the etsy seller is likely incorrect. Lingerie can be hard, as some styles change slower than most fashions. I looked up the etsy listing and from the style of the nightgown, it looks '60s to me.

If you're unsure if it's the same Olga, perhaps ask the seller for a photo of the rest of the label, ie, the other side. It's true that it's different to the other Olga labels, as you said.

Hi, Nicole,
Thank you, glad to be here:) Yes, i have looked at all Olga labels and have yet to find one even remotely similar. As far as I have seen, all OLGA nightgowns have the bird label and a style number which leads me to wonder. I too find it very unlikely that there is another Olga but I feel like I´ve looked everywhere, even at her earlier corsetry line without finding an answer.

Hi Sofie,

Quite a mystery..... I agree with Nicole that dating on Etsy is often not very reliable, and the ensemble you link to looks late 60s or very early 70s to me. Without seeing the nightgown under this peignoir, it's hard to say whether it's "the" Olga or not.... The peignoir on its own provides little to link it with "the" Olga, and it would be helpful to see the nightgown itself. I've never seen that label, either, but I'm not an Olga expert. The other thing is that, to me, the script on that label looks more modern than the 60s or 70s--so I'm no help at all! We do have a VFG member who is very well versed in Olga, though, and hopefully she'll see your post and be able to help! Can you post photos of your ensemble and a better shot of the label?
