help needed to date men\'s shoes

i am a bit confused( doesnt take much..lol..) in dating these sanders mens shoes

first of all i thought 70's, but then i dont know why 50's flashed in my mind,

There are codes on the inside of these leather shoes and a date code feb 2526

any ideas

These look late 70s to me. Date codes, if that is what it is, are nearly impossible to decipher unless you know the formula because the numbers might not even stand for a date. The numbers could refer to the shift within a monthly rotation, or week and hour... the date is there for tracking purposes so if a shoe falls apart they can trace it to a specific employee or shift of workers and see where the problem was.

thanks jonathan  i see what you mean about the date codes... i would love it if there was a makers code chart on the internet to help me get more info so i can learn more...

The whole nature of the shoe industry has changed now and many of the companies have even forgotten their own method of coding. It would still be available in their archives if they are still in business... but most shoe manufacturers around in the late 1970s are long gone now.
