Help needed to describe this treatment

Hi All,

I'm hoping to list this dress soon but I'm not sure how to describe this treatment to the skirt.

20s flapper dress

The skirt has fringe but not your regular type if twisted threads.

It is actually strands of thread that have been sewn in the wrong side of the fabric and pulled to fringe length on the right side, kind of like long loops. Not at all like an attached fringe trim.

Is there a name for this treatment or should I just describe it as silk fringe?

Thanks,
Kat

Kat,

I would just describe it as silk fringe. Fringe-like silk loops? Yeah, right :D

That's a very cool detail & a beautiful dress

almost looks like feathers...although not being feathers, calling it such may be confusing, still, looks soft as a pile of feathers

Looks like a boucle fringe. Although, I assume no one looks for 'boucle fringe' for, well, anything, let alone a 20's dress.

Silk Fringe should cover it. Lovely dress! :love008:
