Help needed to identify era and balelite, lucite, celluloid clasp on very lod handbag

Hi all,
Picked this gorgeous piece up on the weekend and would love some info on what era it comes from and what the divine dome shaped clasp is made from.
The fabric is cotton, the dome shaped clasp is a very light material. The whole thing measures approx 14" at the base, the dome is ~5". The opening allows just enough room to get your hand in, certainly not a bag for someone who likes to fit half their belongings in their bag

Wow, that's a beautiful bag!

That handsome dome shaped frame and chain link are celluloid. I'm going to guesstimate 20's for the bag, although I'm sure the bag folks will be around shortly to give you a better date.

Thanks so very, very much for all your RAPID responses and info. How exciting, I dont think Ive ever had anything this old before! There it was sitting in a basket mid morning at the local swap meet
Now I just have to figure out if Im going to sell it ot keep it, lol.
