Hi... havent been on here for a long time...:BAGUSE:

been sooooooo busy with work, i have been having quite a bit of vintage through, so i am hoping to do some fairs next year.:insane:...lol..

anyway i had a lovely pixy style felt hat

which was made by maugreen hats, and i was just wondering if anyone has some info on the company, and maybe a labels, to help me date the hat, i think its 1930's, but i could be wrong

will try and take some pics of it to show you ...it is sooooo cute.......

any info would be really appreciated.....

thanks.....:drinkingtoast:

hope you dont mind but i have bumped my post up...

was just wondering, have i got the date right for this hat, 1930's ? or am i miles out...lol..

also would it have been worn with the peak part at the back, so the pattern part to the front, or the peak part on the side of the head..?

sorry but i know the photos dont do it justice,

also if it was your what price would you ask for it?

i am hopefully going to this ( link below) fair in london in feb to have a look around, with the intention of having a stand there in march all being well, and some of my vintage items up for vetting first, so i want to do a nice range throughout the decades if poss.

I'd say 30s too, worn with the label placed at the back of the head (as is customary for hats) and probably perched quite prominently at the front!

They had some quite eccentric styles in the 30s, and this looks like a lovely example of one of those novelty hats of the time, with a curious pointed peak. I can't get the scale of it from those photos, but I'm guessing its pretty small.

Its a mistake to wear them too far back on your head, and they were often worn slightly skewed too.

I wish I could try it on myself - I love hats!

thank you.... yes it is quite small, to be honest i first thought it might have been a child's hat.

apart from going over it with a bit of sticky cellotape to get the bits of fluff/dust off it, its in very good condition...

will try and get a better pic of it in the next day or two..

so glad i got the era right....

i will have to sell it, so will have to figure out how much i could charge for it
