Hi everybody,

please tell me your opinions about this dress. The photos show just the dress, not many details like the zipper or label, so this is a bummer for me. I am a huge fan of Trigere, a huge huge fan abut sometimes have hard time dating the pieces based on their looks... I asked about the seller more photos but because of the time distance or whatever reason she hasn´t yet replied. The dress I am referring to can be found here:

You know the agony when you hunt down special pieces and when you finally find something you like, its waist is 5 inches too small for you? This might actually fit me at least with a corset (did´t Trigere cut waist quite small compared to bust?) so it´s worth drooling over; how ever I would need your help as I cannot think straight anymore. Based on the pics, what era would you place this into?

Sorry, I know I should wait for more detailed photographs before submitting this request, but if someone has any idea about this please share it with me... I would die to read the magical words "It´s from the 50s" but we´ll see...

Thanks a lot for your help! All info is appreciated.

They're not the best photos, and she hasn't included measurements so if you want to wear it, I recommend asking for them - size 10 doesn't necessarily mean much, as sizes change over time and designers.

According to the VFG label resource, it has the '90s label, and I'm thinking it's early '90s - which may be why the seller put it under the general section, rather than vintage.

If you like it, I recommend that you ask enough questions until you're happy with what you find out.

I agree with Nicole--I think this is an early 90's dress. Maybe late 80's, as that fuschia color was popular around then, although a bit earlier, but I don't think it's much earlier than late 80s. I used to wear a lot of that color back then! And it's similar to bridesmaid's styles that were carried in the bridal shop I worked in in the early 90s. And the fabric looks like a polyester satin, not a 50's fabric.

It is a lovely dress, but IMHO, far too pricey for a newer Trigere. Prices on her pieces seem to have gotten depressed over the last couple years or so. Of course, if you love it and it is your size, then you should have it! Pricing is very subjective....

Thanks for your help! I was also 99% sure it´s the late 80s or 90s but I wanted to be convinced. I didn´t see the label properly to be able to compare it to my older Trigeres... My mind started doing tricks to me as I wanted so bad it to be older; didn´t trust my instincts. Ok, search continues...
