Help on identifying Australian made Lee Jacket

Hi,

I have an old Lee denim jacket that was made in Australia. It’s in new condition and I would like to give it to my son. I’ve owned it for decades but can’t remember exactly when I bought it (I'm 68 years old).

I tried to age it recently by doing a Google Image search but after an hour or so (and dozens of searches) could find nothing that looks like it. It looks genuine and is extremely well made.

It has a single zipped top pocket but all the other connectors are riveted metal buttons. The pocket shapes (both top and bottom) are different to all the other jackets I saw online.

I have emailed Lee Australia on 2 occasions and have received nothing in reply from them.

If you look at the label you can see that it has the care symbol and those didn't come into play in the UK until the mid and late 1970s. I am not sure about Australia, but you begin to see that sort of stuff moor and more in the 1980s. So, that will help give you some idea of the time period. Hope that helps.

Thanks heaps Melody Note Vintage for your reply. The late 70's could be right as I was living in an inner Sydney suburb and it was a very cool place to be back then. I moved to Wollongong in 1982 and I don't think I would have purchased it after that.
