Help selling women’s suits

Is this more of a 1940s suit, or more of a 1950s suit? I have a few women’s suits and none of them are selling but I picked this one up because of the color, details and size - it’s a size “large”. However it’s still sitting on Etsy and I’ve had it at $125 plus shipping for a few weeks now. I know that’s not a lot of time, but I don’t want it to sit forever. Are suits just not selling? I seem to only be able to sell trendy stuff or cheap stuff mind you I have a basic photo setup in my apartment

I see 40s. That's a great suit - the color is fantastic, and it's nice that it's a larger size.

20 years ago, someone would have snapped that up. Suits just don't sell for me. Even Lilli Ann suits don't bring in the money that they used to.

Hopefully the right person will see it and buy it!

That is lovely...it is surprising that it has not sold. I know we still are able to sell a suit now and again but it's true that they don't sell like they used to.

This is a lovely 1940s suit! Assuming condition is good, I think your pricing is fair, and while I'm not a big fan of breaking up sets, I can't keep jackets like this in stock - they fly out the door. I imagine yours would too. So, if your patience runs out, you can sell them as separates - with links to the other garment.

A 'few weeks' old listing isn't so long. Give it time. Great color and details.

To echo what others have said, people don't collect and wear suits like they did in recent years pass. I predict that this will change a little as more people are changing from working remote to having to come in the office. Also, current suit lovers tend to break up the set, wearing the blaze more than the skit. Look at Streets of Paris fashion for great styling, very exciting to me.

That said... I don't work in a formal office setting with a dress code and wear my suits out. People compliment me all the time. Let's bring em back.

I agree that a few weeks is not long for a sale. It is a great and unusual color, good style and a wearable size. You just have to wait for the person who not only loves it (like we do) but who it will actually fit. I bet there are a number of ladies who love it but it is not their size. I am sure the right buyer will come along. I hate to break up a set like this, and would only do it if it sat for a long time with no interest. Besides, if someone wants the jacket alone, I still am thinking that $125.00 is a reasonable price for it. They just would not wear the skirt and still get a great garment.
