(Also posted to trade forum.) I only hope my shots do this dress justice--some lightened to show detail, but it's black! It's one of the nicest I have (I don't get the kind of goodies a lot of you do!), and I'm stumped on its age & how to price it! Thought this was late 40s, mostly because of the side zipper, back pleating treatment, and original length (mid calf or lower). Also, it's similar to an I. Magnin I have from the 40s. But has the ILGWU AFL-CIO label )cloth, not paper), which I thought was mid 50s & later? No mfgr tag, but high end. Crepe, probably rayon, with the nicest beaded accents (the spray of beading has a tiny satin-covered button/dot under it, then the single rhinestone) sprinkled all around the front & front/sides. Side metal zipper. Was supposed to be longer, but was hemmed up about 3". And the rhinestone brooch is stitched onto the collar as part of it, not pinned. Missing its original belt. I have a private customer interested in it & have no idea what to charge! If put it on eBay, I think I'd start it at $49.99 with a reserve or B-I-N of $74.99. In my Babylon Mall store, I think I'd just stick it in at $74.99. Is this too high for this, too low? It's a 12 or maybe 14, so an in-demand size! Mint condition but for the missing belt & has some of that dratted deoderant residue (recent, as I was able to brush some off), so I am paying to have it cleaned. Thanks!
